They took my pup on short notice which was nice. The staff on the day I dropped him off were really friendly. However when I came to pick him up the weekend staff were very short and rude. They told me he wasn't eating much today, didn't give me back all my food, and failed to inform me he had a runny nose and was coughing. Turns out he picked up kennel cough. Not really impressed with the communication.
Our dog Duke boarded here for the first time for a week and he loved it! They were very accommodating and made the booking process easy. Really like that they have grass for the dogs to play on outside isntead of rocks/cement like some other places. It's along a river valley as well so lots of trees and nature around the facility. We called halfway through his stay for an update and we were thrilled to hear he was doing well. They let us know how he was getting along, if he was eating or not and how well he played with the other dogs. They even posted his picture online for us to see! When we picked him up he was SO happy and tired - he slept for days! Will definitely use this facility again. Would love to try their daycare as well for more frequent socialization and to tire our pup out.
Service is good but the pricing isn't fair. On Sundays their only open between 4-6pm but they charge a second day if your pet stays past 12 pm so anytime you want to pick up a pet on Sunday that's a two day charge. If you dropped off Sunday at 4pm and pick up on Monday at 4pm your charged two days. This practice isn't ethical in my opinion and will be going elsewhere.
I have been leaving my dogs there for 5 years and the take amazing care of them and the staff is very caring. I strongly recommend barkers !
We just picked up our 2 dogs yesterday from Barkers after an extended 3 week stay. Weve never left them that long before and werent sure how they would do for such a long time. Turns out, they did great! We called often to see how they were and the reports were always positive. Our boy tends to lose weight quickly and when we called, they asked if they could increase his food to keep his weight on and they both looked just as good when we dropped them off. Our senior dog received her medication and her arthritis remained under control. We requested a bath, which needed to be booked far in advance as they fill quickly, and they were all nice and clean when we got them home. I really cant say enough about the care they got and the staff that looked after them. Thanks Barkers, theyll be back!
